North Adams Public Schools considers safe and supportive school environments for all students to be of the highest priority. Safe and supportive school climate is a pillar of our 2022-2023 District Improvement Plan which has been reviewed and approved by our School Committee and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
With this goal in mind, we will be administering a school climate survey on Tuesday, November 22nd. All 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th graders will participate in the survey, which will help inform curriculum, policies, protocols, and practices going forward. The survey will include the topics of racism and bias. Through the course of the first semester, students have been exploring these topics together as a community. The World of Difference™ student group from Drury High School have been engaging with all 6th grade students and leading discussions about these topics and reviewing terminology that will aid them in their ability to respond to the survey.
For questions regarding the survey or about student participation, please email familysupports@napsk12.org.
