Virtual Design Public Hearing-
North Adams-Brayton Elementary School Improvements (Safe Routes To School)
What is happening?
A live virtual design public hearing will be hosted at the website below on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 7:00pm to discuss the proposed design for pedestrian and bicycle accommodation improvements at the Brayton Elementary School in North Adams. MassDOT welcomes your input for consideration in the design process.
How will this affect you?
The Project proposes to construct and repair sidewalks and curb ramps along Brayton Hill Terrace and Brickyard Court in conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and stripe bicycle lanes along Brayton Hill Terrace to encourage students to walk or bike to and from school. Crosswalk visibility is proposed to be enhanced through the installation of pedestrian-activated rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs).
